Take a look at your home from your baby's point of view as it may help in identfying potential hazards.
Safety gates should be installed at the top and bottom of staircases where applicable.
All electrical sockets should utilize outlet covers to prevent your small child from sticking things in them.
Periodically check your childrens toys for lose parts and broken edges.
When entering any room visualy inspect the floor for small objects that your child may place in their mouth.
Remember if they aren't meant to have it, they'll want it.   So ensure these items are stored out of your childs
reach.
Have your car seat checked for proper installation.   Studies have shown that 4 out of 5 car seats are installed
and used improperly.
If you have throw rugs and door mats in your home use slip proof mats underneath them.
Videotape/photograph your child two to three times per year using full frontal and profile shots. Also, ensure you
know your child's height and weight. Consider keeping a monthly growth chart.
